Good place to go fishing
nice River view campground is just that a campground nothing fancy just good people and a great place to spend the weekend on the new river
I pulled in on my bike expecting to check in to the "cabin" I rented for the night so I could stay out of the rain. Had to call the owner and leave a message on two different lines cause why would he pick up the phone. When I was called back I was told the key was left in the door, warning sign number two. When I got to the "cabin" it was hot and full of bees. Tried the air conditioner and it didn't work. I looked around the campground and didn't feel like I could leave my stuff unattended so I packed up and got out of there. This is not a place for children unless they like industrial equipment and possibly needing a tetanus shot. Stay far away from this campground.
Great place! Laid back & very helpful staff! Riverfront full hookup campsites are beautiful! If your looking for a relaxing get away this is it. It is not a KOA but a awesome place with awesome veiws. No swimming pool but there is a beautiful river with easy access; no playground or camping supplies on site. It is a basic campground but sites are clean & grass is mowed & beatiful green. Galax has all you need as far as Resturant's if you want to get out on the town & walmart , family dollar & magic mart are all less than 20 minutes away. Good cell service with Verizon. Great cat fishing and smallmouth fishing from the bank.
Stayed here for the weekend with my troop. Great for tents and RVs. Right on the river bank!
